Performances by 1Hood Media and Trevor C. Dance Collective

Two different performance art groups will collaborate on a set that showcases their individual talent and will also cooperate to create an improvised collaborative piece on stage, manifesting the Summit theme, Polarization to Cooperation: HOW Do We Get There?

1Hood Media is a collective of socially conscious 1hood-group-photo-2teaching artists and activists, who believe that art is the best way to challenge inequity, raise awareness and unify humanity. We are young creatives who work in and with our community, telling our own stories, while partnering with those of like mind and vision.

12548937_10154032232738714_4248951111337983494_n-1Trevor C. Dance Collective is the assimilation and presentation of young artists from across Pittsburgh, spearheaded by Trevor Miles. Trevor recently received a $60,000 Heinz Endowment award, his first grant, to continue working with undeserved youth.

Previously, Trevor was awarded an NAACP Award for his Community Service efforts in the South Hills region, and now works in the West End, where he calls the Ryan Arts and Culture Center home!  His mission is to continue to elevate our youth.
